Seattle Sounders FC
Graphic Design invitation
Timeline: 1 week
My Roles: Graphic Design
Tools: Illustrator, Photoshop
Background
—
I enjoyed the first interview where we talked about the Graphic Designer position and opportunities at Sounder FC. As for the next steps in the process, I was warmly invited to participate in a design project. This project offerered a valuable chance for me to showcase my creativity aligned with the Sounders brand.
Following the review of the project, the selection process will move forward, leading to a panel interview with members of the marketing team. During this interview, I'll have the opportunity to discuss my design ideas and creative process.
Goals
—
Each year, we sign new players at different levels of significance. When we sign a designated player (DP), we aim to make a big impact on our social media platforms because it usually generates a lot of interest from our fans. We want you to use visuals, text styles, and other creative elements to create an attention-grabbing and lively presentation of this player. Our goal is to get our fans excited.
Objectives
—
We will create two unique signing concepts for Raúl Ruidíaz as a Designated Player (DP). Our focus will be on including important information while staying true to the Sounders' values. By prioritizing visual design and using clear and simple fonts, we want to capture Ruidíaz's essence and match the club's identity. Our aim is to convey the excitement and energy of this important signing.
Process
—
I begin by gathering all the assets that were sent to me and then allocate each one to a specific folder. This method helps me stay organized and ensures that I don't waste time searching for a particular asset.
Next, I start my research phase, working to refine the visual style I intend to communicate for each project, all the while ensuring that I align with the requirements outlined in the brief.
