This project was part of a design invitation from Seattle Sounders FC, offering an opportunity to demonstrate creative alignment with the club’s brand identity and visual standards. The goal was to design a high-impact signing announcement for Designated Player Raúl Ruidíaz, capturing the excitement of the moment and engaging fans across digital and social platforms.

The challenge was to translate the energy, pride, and motion of Sounders culture into a single visual moment—one that celebrates both the player and the community that supports him.

Process & Approach

I began by organizing all provided assets—player photography, logos, and brand elements—into clearly labeled folders to streamline workflow and maintain consistency. From there, I conducted visual research on Sounders’ existing campaign materials, social media graphics, and motion treatments to understand how the team communicates visually with its fans.

With those insights, I began exploring composition and type hierarchy, balancing clarity with visual energy. The designs incorporated bold typography, clean framing, and layered motion cues to reflect the fast-paced atmosphere of professional soccer.

Each concept aimed to feel unmistakably “Sounders”—infused with the team’s signature colors and design ethos, while presenting a fresh visual narrative around one of the club’s most exciting players.

This project reinforced my passion for sports design and brand storytelling—particularly how typography, layout, and motion cues can amplify emotion and community pride. It was an opportunity to showcase both design precision and creative intuition, producing work that felt ready for real-world application within the Sounders’ marketing ecosystem.
